An Open Invitation to First Unitarian Universalist Church
06/04/2019 09:40:47 PM
Dear Reverend Colin Bossen, Reverend Dan King, and the community of the First Unitarian Universalist Church,
We, Shma Koleinu, are so very grateful to you and your willingness to open your doors to us. We don’t know you yet, but we look forward to it. As you have may have heard, we are a Jewish community without walls. Shma Koleinu is made possible by the generous support of our contributors, all of whom are, as we say in the Torah, “Freewill offerings.” Our lack of walls affords us opportunities and challenges us to continue seeking our due north (which is often any of the other coordinates on the compass)! We love singing, gathering for a nosh, uniting as a community, loving our neighbors (especially those who are made so by our rent), and long walks on the beach!
We cordially invite you to join us any time you may wish to experience what we do, how we pray, and how we affirm what we believe to be common and constant for all human beings – the Tzelem Elohim (Divine Image) that each of us animates with our own very own unique version of humanity by which we are endowed.
“Baruch atah B’voecha u’varuch atah b’tzeitecha”
May we all be blessed in our comings and blessed shall we be in our goings.
