Ever been tempted to text in services? Well, now your Rabbis are inviting you to!
You will find value and can still register to attend the last session, Sunday, August 29, 7:00 pm.
Shma Koleinu will make available a variety of ways for you to text your way into our High Holy Days!
Created by Rabbi Scott Hausman-Weiss and his fearless High Holy Days partner, Rabbi Laura Sheinkopf, “Texting" will offer you opportunities to enhance your preparation for the High Holy Days:
- Live via Zoom, on Facebook, YouTube, or ROKU (on Congregation Shma Koleinu channel) live this Sunday, August 29 at 7:00 pm (or recorded, if you choose to watch later), take brief but deep dives into the most central holy texts of the Days of Awe. (If you want to receive the texts we will be studying, please sign up below.)
- Watch a few VLOGs (video logs) of Rabbi Scott and Rabbi Laura sharing and parsing their favorite High Holy Days texts, musical compositions, poetry and Torah stories.
- Be invited to submit your own texts in response to some of what you learn, hear and may be moved by, to potentially be incorporated into our High Holy Days experiences together.
- Participate via Instagram, (@congregationshmakoleinu), throughout the days of Elul, where you will receive an idea, a prompt, a song, or a story, that even if for just a few minutes a day, will invite you to consider how you can prepare your soul for these High Holy Days.
- Sign up Now to participate in some or all of the ways above. We will then send you a weekly email with info on how to prepare yourself to “text in services.”
