Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur arrive with enough of the secular year behind us that we know what we would like to change, but enough in front of us that we still can. The month of Elul is the prelude to the High Holidays.  It’s traditionally a time of introspection and personal taking-stock.  Please join Congregation Shma Koleinu (CSK) on Wednesday, September 4 (1 st day of Elul) for a workshop: “Shir Chadash – Sing a New Song” to kick off your Elul journey with music, memory, and Michelle*! Special Thank You to our Chairs - Richard Elbein and Jerry Peperone.

*Who’s Michelle?

Michelle Azar is the actress headlining in Houston’s two-night run of the acclaimed national show All Things Equal: The Life and Trials of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.  Michelle is also an educator and a friend of Rabbi Scott and his wife Natalie, and has agreed to lead the workshop.  Michelle will use music to remind, inspire, and illuminate the many and varied paths of our lives, to unlock inner stories that at times can keep us bound. We will be reconnected with those who guided and even carried us along the way, and how we are music makers ourselves.

All Things Equal is the latest from composer, author and Tony Award- winning playwright Rupert Holmes. The show’s Houston run at Hobby Center is September 5 & 6.  CSK is attending on the 5th because the 6th is Shabbat.  To purchase tickets, please click HERE.
