Accidental Interactions: Creating connection and shared experiences

In times of disruption, how do we come together?  How do we connect when we must physically distance and are politically and socially divided?  The power of stepping away from thought and into our senses may better connect us on a human-to-human level and intertwine us into a deeper and more resilient sphere.  In this workshop, you will use the power of art to create rich and meaningful dialogue with each other and enrich self-transformative experience.

Participants are asked to have a sheet of drawing paper on hand for the workshop.  Drawing utensils are needed as well, the more colors the better!

Ileya is an advocate for building connection and community through high-touch meaningful moments and helping communities understand the power in togetherness.  She has spent over 15 years in education nurturing students’ self-agency while simultaneously consulting in building stronger community support systems.  She currently is gaining a PhD in Leadership and Change with an emphasis in social justice and relational leadership.  Ileya seeks to help people realize that it is through leaning into our differences and seeing them as the glue that binds us is the gift we give each other. The Ubuntu philosophy states, “I am because you are.”  And Ileya passionately believes that humanity is deeply interconnected to itself, and the power of self relies heavily on the power of connection.
