Tashlich 2020
Tashlich at Lost Lake at the Dunlavy
Tuesday, September 7, 5:00 pm, Join Rabbi Scott and the community in a brief Family Friendly Tashlich Service, Lost Lake at the Dunlavy, 3422 Allen Parkway, Houston, TX 77019. There is public parking available adjacent to the Dunlavy.
On the first day of Rosh Hashanah, Jews traditionally proceed to a body of running water and symbolically cast off their sins. The Tashlich ceremony includes reading the the last verses from the prophet Micah (7:19), “God will take us back in love; God will cover up our iniquities. You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”
Although bread isn't harmful, we would prefer that you throw fish food pellets into this feeder for Buffalo Bayou. (We will have some on hand for you, if you do not bring your own.)
